TRAFFIC ALERT - The Circle in Georgetown Will Be Closed on Wednesday Evening and Thursday for Sussex County Return Day
Georgetown --The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) advises motorists that The Circle in downtown Georgetown will be closed to traffic around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9 for Sussex County Return Day. Motorists should plan their routes accordingly that day, since the closure of The Circle will affect through traffic for DE Routes 9, 404, and 18.
There will also be a brief closure of Arrow Safety Road and West Market Street at U.S. Route 113 for the parade starting around 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, and it will reopen at the conclusion of the parade.
Traffic is expected to be heavy in the early morning hours as parade participants and attendees make their way to The Circle in Georgetown. All roads should reopen to traffic by 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 10.
If motorists must visit Georgetown during these two days, they are advised to follow the posted detour routes as follows:
The eastbound detour is U.S Route 113 south to Speedway Road to Zoar Road to DE Route 30/Gravel Hill Road back to DE Routes 9, 404, and 18.
The westbound detour is Truck DE Route 9/Park Avenue to Wood Branch Road to Speedway Road to U.S. Route 113 north back to DE Routes 9, 404, and 18.

Police will close off streets at 8:30 and will not open them until after the event. THERE WILL BE NO VENDORS W/PUSH CARTS ALLOWED. NO PERMITS WILL BE ISSUED. IF SEEN, THEY WILL BE CONFISCATED BY THE POLICE
